When Disaster Strikes: Supporting Emotional Development and Helping Children Cope
Thursday, November 22, 2019 – 4:30 to 6:00 pm

This presentation explores the early childhood teacher’s role in helping children cope with natural disasters in a way that supports emotional development. As environmental changes and growing populations in urban and coastal areas magnify the impact of natural disasters nationwide, teachers and early childhood programs have the critical task of understanding and managing the impact of these events in the classroom.
